For my usual introduction to quantum physics for high school students, I dared for the first time to add an explanation of Bell's inequality to the usual cats & socks, and an effort to show that entanglement and Dirac's equation have nothing to do with love.

Even in the digital era, receiving the hardcopy is always a pleasure. Probably the five complimentary copies I received are the only reprints, thus the environmental footprint is limited also considering the savings in colors for the new cover.

Finally, the second edition of this primer is out. Not only the cover, but also the text has changed a lot - say, by 80%, with the hope to have improved it (or at least to have removed most parts I didn't like anymore). link.springer.com/book/10.1007...
A Superintense Laser-Plasma Interaction Theory Primer
This 2nd edition of the briefs provides a very compact theoretical introduction to laser-plasma interactions, at a tutorial level upper graduate students.

Appena arrivato.

Why is the Holy Spirit Represented as a Dove in the Bible?
From the moment we accept Jesus as Lord, we receive the Holy Spirit as a seal upon our lives. Just like the dove alighting on Jesus, the Holy Spirit indwells us and seals us. We no longer need to fear...

With an enormous delay, I just submitted the manuscript of the 2nd edition of this ultrathin book. The original project was to change a 20% of the text, I ended up rewriting more than 80% (as a reviewer, today I would not recommend the 1st edition ...)

"I was tempted to decline your invitation since a two days deadline for a review is ridiculous, unless one is asked to evaluate the work by the title only. However, this was indeed the case and the title revealed that the manuscript is ridiculous as well, which makes the procedure consistent."

On this day in 1901, Guglielmo Marconi succeeded in sending radio signal across the Atlantic Ocean thanks to reflection from the sky, and then providing "skywaves" for communication all over the world and opening new "bluesky" research. I find this date as appropriate for my first post on BlueSky!
