The wild thing is I haven't even seen The Hills Have Eyes, I've just done my "consuming too many podcasts and reviews about it" thing, and I can cite multiple ways it is textually political.
I would also hate the movie, but that's a separate thought.

And this isn't even mentioning the sheer amount of disability being caused by "it's like a cold" "endemic" covid. Again, MOUNTAINS of data about increased risk of heart attack, POTS, neurological conditions, and now info coming out about its links with cancer.

So many people I know just have permanent chronic coughs or postnasal drip now. THIS USED TO BE THE EXCEPTION, NOT THE STANDARD.
It's like being the kid in the Emperor's New Clothes, where everyone is acting like this has always been normal.

How has everyone forgotten that 6yrs ago it wasn't normal for at least one person in your office to be sick at any given time all year round? That it actually wasn't standard to have "a nasty cold" every two months all year, or have "seasonal allergies" in winter.

This is vaccination rates dropping, but it is also everyone letting Covid run rampant with no effort to limit spread. There is a veritable MOUNTAIN of study showing us that even mild Covid infections damage your immune system, making you more susceptible to other diseases.

The only good thing those smart home appliances ever gave us was that viral tweet of a grounded teenage girl using Twitter on her smart fridge

Now that I'm not autistic, I bet I can wear socks a normal amount of time and do more things in a week than Wait For One Appointment and do text and DM conversations without my body feeling like I am being hunted for sport! Sick

I just watched eXistenZ for the first time (been working through his whole filmography to catch the ones I never got around to) and it is so deliberately charmingly funny!

Yes this was inspired by the Screen Drafts ep about him. Is loving Crash (1996) like a real Canadian millennial thing?? 4 guys all agreed that it's an unlikable movie that wouldn't be in their own Cronenberg top 7.
Here I am listening wearing my "Crash (1996) is the best Cdn film" foam finger.
