“Do you read Sutter Cane?”

#NowWatching John Carpenter’s In The Mouth of Madness.
This big, ambitious and weird love letter to horror fiction and HP Lovecraft is an underrated gem amongst his filmography. One of two films he made in the 90s that I consider to be pretty damn good.

Just released a new episode on Frank Darabont’s The Mist, based off Stephen King’s short story.

One of my favourite #horror movies of the 2000s, is Frank Darabont’s The Mist. An intense movie with one of the best endings of all time. It has aged nicely & perfectly encapsulates our fragile & divisive times.

You can hear me review it on my podcast here: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/h...

I had myself a Tim Burton & Henry Selick stopmotion animation marathon today. It’s been fun.

Corpse Bride (2005)
Coraline (2009)
Frankenweenie (2012)
Wendell & Wild (2022)

These two films would make one hell of a double bill.

First 18 minutes of Episode 6 of #Task were so damn good. Intense & suspenseful. All the various plot threads & story arcs come together for a big action set piece. Some big surprises too. A moving & tense episode, which nicely sets up the big showdown in the finale next week.

One of my favourite #horror films of the 2000s. What Lies Beneath with Harrison Ford & Michelle Pfeiffer. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, while he was on hiatus from filming Castaway.

You can listen to me talk about it on my #podcast: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/h...

Fashionably late to the party, but Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House was tremendous. A frightening & atmospheric show filled with scenes of emotional & psychological depth. Tremendous production values too. A very moving & suspenseful show with awesome scares

I think someone should let Darren Aronofsky know the 90s called & they want their movie back. Inside Llewyn Davis meets After Hours by way of Reservoir Dogs. Probably Aronofsky’s most accessible film & the funnest film he has made since… well?… the beginning of his career.

Cup of tea at a cafe and reading H. P. Lovecraft’s book At The Mountains of Madness while listening to Ennio Morricone’s score from John Carpenter’s The Thing.

What’s not to like? 😊 📖 😱

My first time reading a Lovecraft book.

Robert Redford was an absolute pioneer of cinema, on and also off the screen.

A truly tremendous and enduring legacy he has left behind. A bonafide and charismatic movie star, director, activist and environmentalist. One of the best of his generation. Such an influential figure.

RIP 😔

#NowWatching one of my all time favourite horror films. Jack Clayton’s The Innocents is the quintessential haunted house film, so damn creepy & unsettlingly tense. Co-written by Truman Capote. If you haven’t seen it yet, you really should.

#NowReading Mindhunter.

Bought this book around the time the first season of the show came out at Newark Airport before I flew home to Denmark.

Guess as it is #SpookySeason, feels like the right time to finally read it.

I was pleasantly shocked how enjoyable #TheConjuringTheLastRites was, a pretty damn good film. It wasn’t like they saved the best for the last, but they definitely crafted the best film possible with solid scares & a surprising emotional core. The end of an era & it made for a very bittersweet film.

This will be remembered more for the tragedy that occurred during filming, than the film’s quality itself. I’ve seen a few episodes of the original show, but I feel most episodes of The Twilight Zone will stick with you more than this film. Joe Dante’s & George Miller’s segments are the best part.

When watching Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas, you feel like you’re on drugs. Terry Gilliam’s visually striking film will divide audiences. You’re either gonna love it or hate it. Or you’ll find yourself somewhere in the middle. It’s either one of the greatest films of all time or the worst films ever
