I said here awhile back that this legendary Neal Adams cover might sell for a million dollars. I was a little off. It sold today for a million and a half (including buyer's premium).

I was devastated by Bugonia. My favorite Yorgos by far, despite wanting to walk out halfway through. That’s what art does, right? I’m just sorry more people aren’t seeing it in theaters.

Fascinating. Neal Adams drew this Spirit cover, leaving the figure as pencils only so Eisner could ink it in his style. Instead, Will drew a completely new Spirit, and the cover went unpublished.

It was eventually published with Neal's figure and colors by Richard Corben, in The Art of Neal Adams.

In 1971, a 30-year-old Neal Adams sat down to crank out a Superman cover for Julie Schwartz. Took him an hour or so. It became one of the most iconic comic book covers of all time. Coming up at Heritage soon. Might be a million dollar piece.

The first viewing of a film for which you have high expectations is always a challenge, but OBAA is legit. God bless PTA for casting the great Jim Downey, and for giving him one of the funniest, most shocking one-liners of all time.

Every now and then I cheer myself up by remembering the Michael Golden “Patience is a Virue” commission story.

Watching Orson Welles' The Stranger on TCM. Welles made it to prove to the studios that he didn't glow in the dark. That he could stand there are yell action and cut like the other hacks. Still, he made a very effective, well-acted thriller, and it's the only movie of his to be instantly profitable.

We’ve already missed some, but it‘s Orson Welles day on TCM!

No one can beat me on this one. It starts with the Alex Toth Batman biplane job and ends with Goodwin and Simonson's Manhunter Chapter 6.

My first Batman comic! What’s yours? #Batman

Forgive me for commenting on the man's appearance when there are so many remarkable achievements to celebrate, but...
I don't think any man ever had more perfect facial proportions than Robert Redford.

I loved Caught Stealing. Made me wish all movies were set before the smartphone era.

See movies in theaters.
