One of two Israeli Embassy staff members killed near the Capital Jewish Museum in D.C. last night was from Overland Park, officials said.

The two victims were shot following an event at the museum. National news reports said the two were on the verge of engagement.

Kansas City Manager Brian Platt is out.

The City Council voted unanimously Thursday morning to fire Platt after a jury ruled in favor of a whistleblower who said Platt lied to the media.
