Reminds me of story 10 of day 6 of the Decameron. A fraudulent priest tries to pass off a parrot’s feather as part of Gabriel’s wing. Some jokers steal it & replace it with coal. Without hesitation, the priest claims a further miracle. The feather has become the coal on which S Lorenzo was martyred!

Rather less useful if I’m to be honest. In fact, the exact opposite of a miracle.

It was dead. The woman who made the coffee was anxious to assure me that she’d used very hot water so it wouldn’t have survived for long. #Phew

No, it just photographs like that. We live in a rather dilapidated Georgian terrace. It’s photogenic but damp and draughty.
