Formula Zero is the fictional racing leage of "Resistance Racing 2k97". Rushing through abandoned Hyperloops and other underground structures human built to escape the changing climate on earths surface.

If the curve is super subtle it feels like you are going straight, but somehow still loop around the track - which is fine I guess :)
But a lot of corners are way more intricate in the editor than what they seem to be when from the inside- ungrateful XD

When you are within the tunnel, it is actually super hard to realise the geometry of the track.

The enemy AI is not the brightest yet, but 20 crafts on the same track checks out.
It searches for the most curvature to gain speed and has basic obstacle avoidance.
50 really started to bring the performance down with all the collision checks :D

Resistance Racing School 101:
The more rake your craft has, the faster you will go. Pitch too much and you will grind your nose on the track or detach from it. The rake also influences your heat.
Balance is key to keep the most speed through all corners without overheating.

Tried to model a F1 style craft instead of the wipEout style one. I am not too happy with it, but might explore further, how the track actually would shape the vehicles design.
The tripod of a spaceship like triangle doesnt connect to the walls as much, as a flatter floorsucker I feel like.

Phew, billboarding sprites for 8way models are back in. This is crucial to see where a character is going to or looking at, while still essentially being flat. :)

It's good to be back.
Updating my old models to make paths wider and seeing them perform way better. Also I snuck in the former Café Hegelhof as the drivers lounge and it's a better fit than the old white and cold venue. This will be a fun place to hang around, talk and trade with other drivers.

☢️ the atomic sewer was the tileset I liked the most in the first prototype. The 3d version looks quit good now I think, but maybe needs a bit more glow and clutter ☢️

As a kid I had the wipeout 95 demo and I think that primed me even though I mostly played Dethkarz and Rollcage bc I had no console. But the visuals stayed with me.

Only later on emulators I could actually play the different entries :)
