In the most predictable development ever, Mike Johnson is not committing to hold a House vote on ACA subsidies

You know how watching a new comedian bomb at Open Mic makes your whole body crunch with second-hand embarrassment? Yeah. That. But with an equal dose of rage.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

UK's Zack Polanski understands the most basic rule of messaging: if you want to touch a nerve, you have to touch a nerve. Of course they're coming after him and of course his Green Party is rising in polls and members.

The right can mock my teeth all it wants – it shows the Greens have struck a nerve | Zack Polanski
As a politician, I expect opposition and debate. But when it centres on personal insults, not policies, something else is going on, says the leader of the Green party, Zack Polanski

What was behind Tuesday's Dem sweep? Borrowing a page from Bonnie Rait, winners pursued the "Let's Give 'Em Something to Talk About." And didn't get caught flat, or foot in mouth, when MAGA trotted out their divide to conquer hate baiting.

When CA launched Prop 50, it was polling at 38%. And so, we did it anyway. Winning campaigns requires that your GOALS define your actions, recognizing opinion - including who agrees to vote - is malleable. In other words, be a thermostat, not a thermometer.

Many of us start our days with coffee. Let the coffee makers lead the way to start much bigger things too!!!
BREAKING: Starbucks baristas at Downtown Disney couldn’t stand another day of their managers’ unfair labor practices & kicked off our nationwide strike this weekend. These workers have shut down one of largest Starbucks stores in the country — and we’re just getting started! #NoContractNoCoffee

We must Move Our Money, away from the forces of destruction aiding this regime & into our communities. From Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, folks are collectively committing to avoid Target, Amazon and Home Depot. If this leaves you $ to spare, local food banks, shelters, & community groups need it.

40* Senate Dems said no. House Dems have said they will fight & we should encourage them. Meanwhile, Reps have gone all in on Trump's efforts to turn our government into a weapon against our people.

*Yes, I know. No vote on stage may still hide helping cloture backstage.

Do not help your opposition is politics 101. Do not help fascists who have turned government into a weapon against our people is human 101. So is, don't draw a line you claim represents your unwavering principles and hurl yourself across it.
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Yes, feel all the fury.
And also, know that Democrats who came of age and of power in this pay-to-play system were never going to be what saves us. Only those of - whatever our day jobs - actually willing to confront this regime will bring us out.

In 2024, swing & disaffected Dem focus groups kept saying "it seems to me 'this' happened on Dems' watch." This being fall of Roe, anti-voter laws, more month than check. Coupled with "in 2020 they said turn out to protect our freedoms, we did & it didn't work. Now they're saying it again?"

Thank you New Jersey for picking this leader and allowing her to send a very clear message about what "real Americans" (TM) want.
This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.
