Australia must act now to support the people of Sudan:

* Provide humanitarian assistance.
* Open visa pathways for Sudanese Australians to reunite with family.
* Apply diplomatic pressure to secure humanitarian corridors and ensure civilians’ safety under international humanitarian law.

Millions of vulnerable civilians and children are being starved, entire villages and refugee camps burned, and communities ethnically cleansed.

The world cannot stay silent.

This is one of the gravest humanitarian crises of our time and it must not be ignored.

Any move to further reduce support allowances for carers is a bad one, and shows how backwards Labor’s priorities are.

Labor needs to properly fund foster carers so that they can continue to support the thousands of Victorian kids in need of out-of-home care.
October 22, 2025 at 4:52 AM
Foster carers are already stretched thin – chronically under-resourced and often have to dig into their own pockets to provide for their kids.

We can’t get complacent. We must keep showing up and raising our voices for Palestine, holding this government to account until freedom, self-determination, and justice is achieved.

But the Israeli government has violated ceasefires before. Even now, hours after the agreement has been signed, they are still bombing Gaza City.

Australia must do everything in its power to hold Israel and the US to this agreement, and ensure peace is sustained.

By allowing Australian weapons to be used, this government is complicit.

There is no neutrality in genocide.

This must be the turning point.

Right now, the system is failing to notify, respond, and protect children.

We encourage parents, educators, community members and experts to have their say on how we can improve the system to support educators and ensure proper safeguards are in place.

Thousands of Victorian parents and families have been left devastated by a system where regulation and compliance failed to protect Victorian children.

Our Select Committee inquiry will take a detailed look at what’s happening in the early childhood education and care sector.

To our multicultural and First Nations communities: you are not alone. Our strength is in our diversity and solidarity.

To the Premier: the time for empty words is over. You must act NOW to protect our communities and tackle the inequality that allows this hatred to fester.

This government has failed.

For 3 years, it has ignored the clear roadmap from the 2022 Inquiry into Extremism, which included funding to challenge radical beliefs, anti-racism education, and action to stamp out white supremacist groups.

Yesterday’s violence is the result of their inaction.

Everyone deserves a safe and affordable home. Adding the right to housing to the Victorian Charter of Human Rights would mean that affordability, accessibility and adequacy of housing will be central to future government decisions.
