If we are going to build a more civilized society, and if we want Bluesky to be better than twitter, we should probably refrain from calling posts Trumpian that do not obviously lie or demonize the marginalized.
Ah. You want to point fingers of blame. That's perfect Trumpian behavior. Let's all play Outrage Olympics and continue the behavior that got us here!

The corpse of Richard Nixon should've beaten Trump in a head to head 2024 election. Cuban and Harris weren't the problem.

Pope Francis has said yes to God... God may grant him the mercy of removing the weight of the world from his shoulders, but until he does the Holy Father will remain steadfast in his faith and bear that burden with grace.

Americans are so chauvinistic that they think the selection of the next Pope is going to be a choice between JD Vance or Nancy Pelosi. That isnt how things work.

"(African) minerals and other natural resources are often shamelessly pillaged and placed on the altar of financial interests. The rich countries do not care about the human and social consequences that they cause for defenseless populations" -- Cardinal Sarah

CEOs are trained under an organizing principle: gain wealth, forget all but self.

They cannot behave according to a moral philosophy (secular or religious) because that wouldnt always be profitable. A violation of their duty as CEOs.

I imagine this starts to poison their hearts over time.
Got to say I LOVE the Trump Administration negotiating to get Rare Minerals from Ukraine, for 2 reasons:
1. It reduces our dependence on China for Lithium and Graphite (China provides near 70% of world supply)
2. More than 50% of those minerals are in Russian Annexed land.

A lot of progressives, who believe in a more caring government, actually strongly believe in Vance' Ordo Amoris in their regular lives.

They don't like organized religion and they havent replaced it with any organizations that do good. So their caring is very localized to themselves and their own.

Conservatives can attempt, with certainty, to apply the 800 hundred year old writings of Saint Thomas Aquinas to justify the ramblings of a fascist. I would highlight the words of Saint Dorothy Day from her 1955 statement on Francisco Fernandez.

Actually, no. This misses the point of Jesus's Parable of the Good Samaritan (Lk 10: 25-37). After Jesus tells a lawyer that you should "love your neighbor as yourself," the lawyer asks him, "And who is my neighbor?"

bro this is the anti-Christ gospel. I cannot emphasize enough that (as Nute says) this is the opposite of the gospel.
I mean yes, there is such a concept in Christianity. It appears quite notably in the letters of Paul, for instance, where it’s a concept he *relentlessly* argues against, and in the Gospel where it’s a concept Jesus very much repeatedly scorns. So it is technically in there!

The Vatican has rejected ambassadorial nominees (twice from France) in the past because they are gay; Burch's lobbying against the Pope and much else would seem actually legit grounds for the Holy See to say no thanks.

Westbrook is averaging 7 APG in November. More than at any point last year. Clippers social media acted like he need to be regulated to an energy guy. As a long time fan, it is nice to see him get to be a playmaker again. Love his synergy with Jokic.
