Looking forward to reading this. It's a pretty substantial book in good shape I got from ThriftBooks. They're an independent bookseller, and have very reasonable prices. #WeirdNewEngland

Don't be scared, but I have a ferocious, fire breathing dragon on my lap! #LittleBrownDog #Halloween

As you and your friends visit a clearing in the forest tonight to worship the old gods (as one does), remember to watch for mysterious figures that pass silently below the trees! #Halloween

Got my scans back from Old School Photo Lab. Several were badly underexposed, but I blame the light-hungry nature of original Phoenix Colour 200. All taken earlier this month with my Chinon Bellami. #BelieveInFilm #NewEngland

I bought a SmallRig battery for my X-T5. They're comparatively cheap, with great reviews.

Does anyone know why this cover came with it? It says to reattach after use. Is it only meant to indicate a depleted battery? I can't tell if it also serves some protective function. #SmallRig

Rise amongst us, o' hallowed pumpkin!

This morning's shoot at the arboretum with my wife and friends was fun, despite a chill in the air. This is one of my early favorites. #Halloween

Bought a box of these at Costco today. They boast only 3 ingredients. I think one of those ingredients might be Play-Doh.

Last weekend's drive along the Cheroholah Skyway (aka Tail of the Dragon, as it's known to motorcyclists). The skyway stretches from eastern TN to western NC.

There was a fair bit of color at these higher elevations. #Fall #FujifilmXT5 #Sigma1850

An autumn stroll around the little cemetery near where I grew up. I've visited this quiet spot many times over the years. My dad's ashes were interred here a couple of years ago. #NewHampshire #Autumn

The original Nik Collection sold by Google (before they made it free) STILL works with the latest version of Affinity Photo on Windows 11!

I had to manually add it (Edit -> Settings -> Photoshop Plugins). I've only tested Silver Efex Pro so far, but the whole process worked fine. #NikCollection

If you're heading out to shoot Fall foliage, don't forget to bring a circular polarizer filter (like I did on my most recent trip to New England). I've got mine on now, ready for an afternoon drive in the mountains.

Two test shots: one with the CPL rotated "on," and the other "off."

I don't understand why DXO Photo Lab proudly has no image import function. That seems like a basic operation in any photo management tool. I have a specific naming convention I always use for photos.

The free Bulk Rename Utility does the job, albeit clunkily. #DXOPhotoLab

Morning in a Vermont field. I visit this spot nearly every time I come home, and it always fascinates me through changing light and seasons. #Vermont #MorningMist

Today I got to go inside my first cold storage cemetery chamber! The door was wide open, so it was now or never. This is the Center of Town Cemetery in Hartland. I don't know if it's still used these days when graves aren't dug by hand.

The oldest grave I saw dated back to 1810. #Vermont #Cemetery

In 2006, I learned that this tiny roadside knoll, a couple miles from where I grew up, was the site of an old schoolhouse ー the very one my grandfather attended ~1920.

The building was later sold, and moved 3 miles away where it's still in use as a home addition. #History #MeridenNH

I hiked out to see a loon nest today. I didn't see any loons, but I did see this cute little rodent along the trail. There are chipmunks in Tennessee, but they're more common up this way for some reason. #chipmunk #NewHampshire

I bought my first 5-pack of Pro Image for $9.99 back in 2012. I miss the days of cheap film.
