Dissenters are/were among first to be executed for treason in authoritarian countries. In Russia they came 4AM and kidnapped people from their beds and checked bookshelves for banned books. Tortured, prison or execution.

Rep. Edith Nourse Rogers was a real leader in establishing veteran services/hospitals *and strong-arming funding* for them after WWI.

Vets had lung issues from gas, brutal injuries, plus this kind of thing from outbreaks.

I’m afraid of the Homeland Security posting “remigration now” and don’t understand why everyone isn’t demanding it stop. I define that term as Japanese internment camps, the horrible Back to Africa or segregation, Aryanization preWW2 where no land/business ownership unless Aryan. Does it mean that?

When I was in nursing school (many years ago) research showed that photos of needles decreased people’s willingness to get vaccinations. Increased their procrastination to: never got around to it. I think it increased relapse in ex-IV drug users though.

when I was young & foolish enough to think if I worked enough, I could save money for college. The more jobs and hours I worked, the less I made- because of taxes and expenses. Needed to strategize. DV is the gateway to extremist violence. Same principles, if have the means/support to go bigger (and they’re plentiful online & in media & gov now!) can do so. They’re finally realizing/studying global rightwing terrorism & DV is a symptom. Just cos victim a woman doesn’t mean it’s not serious

Need to start by paying attention to-understanding an infant, child and delighting in their discoveries. Need teachers/classmates to do so. Adults respectful others can make right choices (consent)

Who force obedience and don’t delight in a child’s discoveries & faith in their ability to figure stuff out (and who to run it by when come up w/bizarre conclusions) help create people who have epistemic mistrust & add environmental uncertainties- have credulity & prone to believe consp.theories .

It’s complicated. Involves 100% trust the other person has the right and ability to make a good decision. If provided with accurate information. Therein lies the crux of the problem. Dictators use fear/violence and conspiracy theories; non attuned ‘mean’ parents- teachers- who force obedience

Epistemic trust, the ability to learn by trusting the teacher has your best interest in mind, shows we reject information (epi petrification) if we don’t trust the teacher/giver of narratives. How to establish trust? W/o epistemic credulity- believing what is obviously (to most) too good to be true
