Advisory Speech & Language Therapist working to help schools provide universal & targeted approaches to support increasing SLCN in schools. Part of the RCSLT inspire leadership cohort. Views mine. #bskySPEECHIES #devlangdis
Absolutely, and overall I think the whole section on SEND is quite limited. However, it is another step in the right direction and will hopefully encourage schools to engage further with CPD in this area if they are more aware of the impact of language disorders on curriculum subjects.

Oh I’m so pleased to see these recordings are all online. I didn’t realise they would be uploaded. Looks like an amazing event!

We could have done with a warning in advance to bring tissues and wear waterproof mascara!

Abraz’s story was amazing. Wish staff in every PRU could hear about his journey - an area that desperately needs more awareness and understanding of #DevLangDis

Great talk Amy. Oracy really is coming up a lot in schools and any universal approaches that can include & support chn with DLD as well should be encouraged!

Yes I believe so, at least to some degree. Speech, language and communication needs don’t just disappear over a 6 week holiday between Year 6 and Year 7 (as the data might suggest!) but they can start to present in different ways, which could be interpreted as SEMH needs, when the needs are not met.

Great work, such a good way to encourage more SaLTs! I did my undergrad at Bath and studied lots of the psychology modules, which was a great basis for Speech and Language Therapy! During my placement year in my 3rd year at Bath I found out about SaLT and decided it was what I wanted to do 🙂
