Wonderful day ahead for 🇫🇷. Notre Dame will reopen on time, 5 years after it was gutted by fire. I was lucky enough to have visited the inside this week. It is stunning, the blanched stonework of the vaults and pillars as they would have been in medieval times

Welcome
I heard this is a good place to talk about taxing the rich, breaking up big tech, and ending Washington corruption.

Every single school should have a library & a librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers, and give them all the lifelong benefits of literacy. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER!

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

The hollow hypodermic needle was invented by Alexander Wood in 1853, and allowed drugs to be injected in the body under the skin. Unlike modern syringes, which use a plunger, this syringe works by turning the screw at the top to inject the liquid.

I’d go!
Okay but hear me out:

A nighttime bookstore in which the only lighting comes from lanterns, tea is served to all who enter, there is an emotional support owl in each section, and a buy one / get one free sale occurs during every full moon.

Two weeks after the election, a gathering in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, commemorated Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 address. The Lincoln scholar who recited the 16th president's words said the speech felt “not like a relic from the past, but a prayer for the future.”

Two weeks after the election, a gathering in Gettysburg commemorated Lincoln’s address, 272 words that have come to epitomize what it means to be presidential.

Oldest-surviving anatomical theatre, located in Padua and built in 1594. Over the entrance is the Latin inscription: “hic est locus ubi mors gaudet succurrere vitam.” Roughly: “this is the place where death delights to help life (or the living).”
