After 17 years of driving me batshit, Polly said goodbye today. Stubborn to the very end, she refused to lie down as the sedative took effect. It’s been a long goodbye—but I’m still ugly-crying. She will be missed.

Charlie, realizing I used the new watering can and forgot to fill it up for him. 😍

Winifred, the bedroom cat, ate treats in the hallway today. Twice!

I finished the corner counter; next one would be 100% nicer, but this one is just fine. I made a simple gift wrap display, too—paper for sale by the foot or by the roll! 🥹

This is my first scratch-built piece in a long time—I still have to put shelves inside, but I may paint it first. I’m still in a cast.

I’ve been working on the shopkeep’s flat, 2nd floor of the Tudor. This is the living room/bedroom half. New, homemade, vintage. The TV stand was one of the first things I picked up—it’s a 1:16 1960s dollhouse buffet. I’m still working, but I’m happily shopping my own hoard. It’s a happy place.

Among all the terrible stuff in this bill, some good news: we successfully got Republicans to back off their provision to strip gender-affirming care in their budget bill. It's not included in the final text, and will not be voted on.

Exposed brick walls in the Tudor dollhouse’s second-floor shopkeeper’s apartment (a vintage wallpaper!) I didn’t swap out the window frames inside, but I wallpapered the bay windows and recovered the window seats.

I can’t do much, so relocating rocks is an easy one-handed chore. Maybe one more pebble-picking session, then I’ll lay a hobbit path of pine bark chips.

I have grand plans to reconfigure my creative spaces this summer, but I broke my left wrist on Sunday. Already sick of waiting until I can twist both arms again. 😂

Against all odds, Ethel is home! Her mouth wouldn’t close and her jaw was sitting crooked, but it is not a dental infection or fracture—just a giant abscess. Lanced, drained, antibiotics injected.

She’ll go in July to get all her shots, just like an inside girl. We’ve been too lucky for too long.

This vintage stamped wallpaper was 5.00 for a double-roll, and I think it looks like an expensive William Morris print in a dollhouse.

Ethel isn’t eating, and yesterday I realized she’s has a jaw injury/problem—I’m hoping no one hurt her. We have an appointment at 3:00 pm. I’m so sad—she’s my sweetest OG garden girl, and I’m not prepared to lose her.

At some point, garden fencing. I can’t believe I paid 20.00 for all four pieces.

I will never not love salvaged shelving.

So, the tuxedo girl is alive and healthy. ❤️ I saw her in the garbage neighbors’ driveway today.

The pastures across the way were just mowed last week, so several cats spend their days hunting rats over there. She must be doing the same.

A lovely, smol long-haired tuxedo cat I TNR’ed has gone missing—the first “breakfast regular” to vanish in some time.

I’m hoping that she’s been “found” by the new neighbors in the new house where the trap house burned down last year.

A new tomato in a vintage pretzel tin I found yesterday, plus spiderwort and viola and a dozen others waiting their turn.

Living an hour from Territorial Seed Co. is such a gift. I stopped for nematodes; that’s a Kellog’s Breakfast tomato, a West Virginia heirloom.

Winifred can’t make the jump onto the bed.

I pushed an ottoman against the bed to see if she would use it as a step. Achievement unlocked. 😍

Charlie’s been flipping a mouse around in the dirt for 2+ hours. Here, the mighty hunter poses with his bounty. 😬

Deadstock vinyl wallpaper as dollhouse linoleum. 💥

The shop renovation phase is winding down—the unfinished trim in the first photo = the last pieces to install on the first floor. Next is flooring, then fixtures.
