Listening to Chastity Lord speak at tonight’s Jeremiah Program Summit. Inspirational!!! Exactly the right leader for this trajectory-changing work on behalf of moms, their children, and their communities. Rochester MN is fortunate to have a JP campus.
Chastity Lord, president and CEO of the Jeremiah Program, said they are focused on mothers with at least one child up to five years old, as “birth to five are some of the most expensive, but also some of the poorest times in a parent’s life.” buff.ly/qgOUUFr

If you need some tough love, spoken in beautiful words, listen and act.
In these very seconds, you and I get to decide whether our children and grandchildren and those following us will inherit something beautiful or grotesque. It's really that simple, that elemental, that close.

Just confirmed with the University of St. Thomas that funding to train more special education teachers was *cancelled* because of Trump’s cuts.

Why? Because Republicans are vacuuming up every dollar they can for massive corporate tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy.

They don’t care who gets screwed.

Did you know?

In 1968, 24 Black men in Pittsburgh revolutionized emergency medicine.

The Freedom House Ambulance Service was established to provide emergency medical care to underserved Black neighborhoods—creating the world’s first paramedics.

Absolutely the best advice I've read so far. And highly likely the only way we get thru the firehose of bullshit being sprayed at us from now until November 7, 2028.

Sage advice right here!

I know there’s a lot happening, but this is critical:

Study sections at the NIH have been shut down.

➡️ No reviews = No grants
➡️ No grants = No research
➡️ No research = No NIH

This threatens the future of science & medicine.

IMHO everything can be traced back to greed - greed for property, for popularity, for power, etc. We have to find the lever(s) effective against greed, or they will continue to take. Unfortunately, science, information, explanation is not enough. What’s as powerful a motivator for good?

It was a 49% to 48% election.

Fascism won by a hair.

And it took Russian and MAGA bomb threats, a hoax regarding battleground-state police raids, an illegal Musk-funded lottery, $600M given to Trump by just 15 people, Netanyahu meddling in our politics, and Democrats staying home for it to happen.
