Every 5 years, the US wants to bomb a country to “save its women,” while stripping away rights from women across the US

As we finish #WomensHistoryMonth, I was pleased to read @hcrichardson.bsky.social about 1 of my heroes: Frances Perkins. She got worker protection laws in NY & became the 1st female cabinet member & architect of The New Deal. The book Becoming Madame Secretary is a fave!

On March 25, 1911, Frances Perkins was visiting with a friend who lived near Washington Square in New York City when they heard fire engines and screams.

If you're not outraged or terrified, you're not paying attention to what's happening in front of your own eyes.

I was so busy yesterday I forgot to post about my favorite holiday: #NationalGrammarDay. Thankfully, others did not forget!
Are there any other examples of times when reality breaks grammar and we just have to deal with it?

Example: Zero...it's a number so it has to be singular or plural, but since it isn't singular or plural, we just made it plural. "There are zero marbles."

Thank you for coming out on a cold, windy day to help support #abortionrights! Our table almost blew over, but we had a great turn-out. (Even the girl scouts selling cookies came over to support us!) We're thrilled we raised $265 to support the Center for Reproductive Rights.

I see Trump cultists posting things that are so astounding they're almost laughable. I'm really not sure if the country can ever come back from the kind of mindless regurgitation of utter nonsense we're dealing with on a systemic basis.

I'm always happy to see that some still have some semblance of morality, ethics, and common decency. Not to mention a spine.
Wow. 20+ DOGE staffers just resigned en masse, saying they refuse to use their expertise to “dismantle critical public services.”

“We swore to serve the American people... However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”
21 federal technology staffers resign rather than help Musk and DOGE slash size of government
Twenty-one civil service employees have resigned from billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying they're refusing to use their technical expertise to “dismantle ...

So they removed the black chairman of the Joint Chiefs in the middle of his 4-year tour, without cause, and they're seeking to replace him with a white **retired** Air Force three-star general who lacks the requisite experience as a service chief or combatant commander? Huh, how about that

No matter who you voted for, it's not to late to be on the right side of history. It's OK to have changed your mind and realize that you don't want to be remembered for being complicit in this evil part of history. It's up to THE PEOPLE to #resist in any and every way possible.

Danish citizenship with CA weather? I'll take it! Especially since Denmark is consistently in the top 3 happiest places on earth. Interesting how all of the happiest places have "socialist" policies.
Thousands of Danes sign petition to buy California from U.S.
In response to President Donald Trump’s continued musing about the U.S. acquiring Greenland from Denmark, Danish citizens have launched their own effort to purchase America’s most econo…

When Senator Bill Cassidy had to choose between "doing no harm" and his medical expertise and kissing Trump's ring out of fear, we see which one he chose. Not only is his vote shameful, but it's unethical and he should give up his medical license along with his credibility.

For this year's #NationalHotChocolateDay I broke out the Valrhona and made Parisian hot chocolate (AKA liquid ganache). I may or may not have added a substantial amount of crème de cacao to mine.

To tune out the horrors of daily life under this regime, I celebrated #NationalChocolateCakeDay on Monday with this almond bourbon cake with ganache glaze. Sometimes you just have to ignore the world and eat cake. (By "sometimes" I mean every day.)
