My name is not Amy, but it’s what you can call me. Expect mostly politics, cats and video games. Follow does not necessarily imply endorsement. I am slow to reply to DMs, sorry.
Fuck off fascist

Yes, absolutely.

I think Bsky has some problems in how it's designed too. I only see the posts of people I've placed on a list, based on my desire to see more. I love that I can see their posts (including yours!) and I'd consider a lot of them friends. But, I see absolutely nothing else.

Goodness there are bad typos in this post.

You get what I'm saying though.

Another issue I'm having recently is that I used to try and post insights into political happenings. But, I feel that what is happening is now so far beyond the pale that there is nothing that can be meaningfully said about it.

It would just be a lot of "Yep, they're really evil."

These posts feed into the reason I haven't really been posting recently.

I very much feel as though I'm preaching to the choir on this site, and believe that the majority the site are bots or validation-seeking one way or another. I want to do my part in de-radicalizing politics, not farm likes.

It's so rewarding though!

I get such a mental high following a workout.

So, now I have the two kids -- and they're just about a year old. They give me a lot of fulfilment, and I'm proud of getting them to where they are now.

I'm very grateful to their mother, as I never would've gone to get kittens myself.

If you read this far, thank you for doing so.

I ended up rehoming their mother, as her feral tendencies made her quite hostile towards her children once they began to pose a threat to her territorially.

I miss her, but I know it's better this way. I know that where she is now, she will be happy in solitude with a loving human.

His recovery was pretty magical, and I was so relieved.

The time I had spent with him when I believed he would die deepened our bond, and I was certain I could no longer part with him. He is my son.

I was ultimately pleased that he had been left behind.

Come Monday, I woke up and found he had eaten. I'll spare you the details, as they are truly disgusting, but he had managed to expell the problem.

He rapidly regained his desire to eat, though I continued to force him as he had lost a lot of weight. Any loss of weight can be fatal for kittens.

Over the weekend, he showed no signs of improvement. I spent as much time with him as I could -- certain at this point that he wouldn't survive. He wasn't eating at all, and I was force feeding him formula milk, as well as a cocktail of medicines that he absolutely hated. He looked terrible.

Around a week later, the boy fell very worryingly unwell and spent a week in 24 hour care. He had developed worms somehow, likely from eating ticks from his mother. The vet told me he likely wouldn't survive, and recommended I let him go if he doesn't get better before the next Tuesday.

The first person who showed interest in having the two ended up sort of pulling a rug on me. She wanted to trial just the one youngest daughter with her other cats, before coming back to get the boy. I agreed, and let her take the one girl.

As you can likely guess, she never came back for the son.

Somehow, it all worked out. All three kittens thrived.

My plan was to keep the firstborn daughter, and to rehome the other two -- ideally sending them to the same home so they could be together.

Originally I was pretty panicked. I had never looked after newborns. What followed was a great deal of frantic googling, and perhaps a little bit of overpreparation. I built them a contained area and ensured their mother was eating high-calorie food to produce ample milk.

I let her come and go for a while, and I checked for a chip to ensure I wasn't abducting her.

It was only towards the end of her pregnancy that I was really aware of it, which I suppose is fairly normal. I built her a box at the foot of my bed, which is where she gave birth to three kittens.

I'm thankful you're in our lives!

GOOD.

Like no, F- you.

He deserves the bullying he receives for the rest of his life.

None of these people should be allowed to just walk away from this.

These people think about trans people during every moment of their lives.

They don’t have an agenda, they don’t have any policies. It’s solely based on wanting to bring destruction to the left, without a reason being stated for doing so.

Cindy!
I never actually learned the exact day of your birthday, but I knew it was around now. Hope you have an amazing birthday and that you get to spend it doing whatever makes you happiest. It’s always a pleasure seeing your genuine and kind presence on my feed and it’s nice keeping up with you.
