Do not give up your ability to reason.
Do not give away your need to struggle.
Do not atrophy your capacity to decide.
Do not confuse efficiency for goodness.
Do not monochrome the colors of your voice.
Do not devalue your body.
Do not hand over your mind.
Do not make a machine a god.

The novel I am currently querying grapples with these ideas. I wrote most of it on a typewriter. #amquerying

In 2019, I was forever changed by hearing the luminous Andrea Gibson perform in a little theater in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rest in peace, bright bright soul. ✨️

There's nothing nightmarish about having the receipts on your own thought process. This is the new dream as far as I'm concerned.

In the creative process & in one's own relationship with self & the earth, an important part of it is watching for signs of life. The signs may be tiny & improbable & fragile, but when we notice them, they work through us in inevitable & sacred ways. Remain receptive, observant, & ready. #writersky

13 years of my life were spent teaching in public schools. Today, I had an urgent feeling that I should type out a list of the books I taught during that time. I don't want to forget them, or that teaching them happened. I remain grateful for what these works gave me, & allowed me to give to others.

A sweet little look at my debut novel as a feed placeholder while I figure out what Bluesky is all about. It might take me a minute. You can also find me on Instagram and the cursed app for the time being... but I have a feeling it won't be for long. :) #writingcommunity #booksky
