I think if JB Pritzker was President and doing the same thing, Republicans would move to impeach him, the coverage in sources like NYT would be apoplectic, and if that alone didn't pressure him to resign, you'd probably peel enough Dems to remove him from office.

It’s back up now. Routine maintenance and a missed email by me is what caused it to go down, but they restored it once I was alerted and contacted IT. Nothing nefarious.
