Go find your happy! We'll drive. Enjoy spectacular scenery, fresh foods + local beer, wine & spirits. Free Wi-Fi. Amtrak Cascades is the best way to explore the PNW. 18 cities served. Thank you for riding! Page monitored M-F 8am-4pm.
Sincere apologies for any inconvenience. Some trains between SEA & PDX had to become buses for a few hours because a freight train derailed near Kelso and required heavy equipment be brought it in to clear it. Apologies again for anyone affected by that. All trains are running again.

Good questions. Testing time could be similar; it depends how each set performs. Implementation has not been determined nor has the testing that will be required on the Pacific Northwest Rail Corridor. It's unknown how many sets will have to pass testing before we start passenger service.

Not yet. Siemens is still manufacturing the trains. This is just the first one and they all have to go through testing. When we get closer to being able to carry passengers, we will post!

Yes, it will be easier to take your bike onboard and you'll be able to sit in the same car as your bike is stored. There are luggage cubes in each car and they fold up when you need to rack a bike.

Great question, but no, they haven't given us any details.

Good question! There are Amtrak-owned tracks on the east coast where speed and curve tests can be completed.

😆

Step 2 is the east coast for speed and curve tests. Step 3 is the PNW Rail Corridor to ensure all of the track safety systems and the trains can 'talk' to each other. 2/2 💚🤎🤍

Testing takes a lot of time because every component and system are run through many different types of tests. All the trainsets will complete testing. The test track in Colorado is step 1. 1/2

Most people say it's very affordable. Tickets between Seattle and Portland can be as low as $27 each way. Buy tix early in advance for best selection and lowest fares. Our route runs north/south parallels I-5. Almost all of our trains run during daylight, except in winter.
