An Amtrak Cascades train pulled by WSDOT locomotive 1408 glides into King Steet Station in Seattle to collect passengers. The train colors are Evergreen, mocha, and cream. The backside of Lumen Field shows above the top of the platform roof.

Our pretty new train is on its way to the east coast for more tests. In 2026, Amtrak Cascades will operate 8 new trains. The trains feature a Pacific Northwest-inspired design, comfy seats, big windows, and regional food and beverages.

We passed our first tests with flying colors!
The first new Amtrak Cascades train is set to depart the test track in Pueblo, CO following several months of testing. Next, it heads out for more testing on the east coast before starting service in the PNW in 2026. This is the 1st of 7 new trainsets.
The first of eight new Amtrak Cascades trainsets is on the tracks after successfully passing its first round of testing with flying colors. It will travel from Pueblo, Colorado, to the east coast for its next round of testing. Pictured on the end is one of two new ALC-42E locomotives that we are also getting. There are tall, tan-colored grasses in the foreground and blue sky surrounds the trainset. The new trainsets will be in service on the Amtrak Cascades corridor in 2026.

KING STREET STATION WELCOMES NEW CAFÉ
Stop by "Café Three03" next time you're at the Seattle station. Located inside King Street Station, they offer a variety of hot and iced drinks, along with breakfast items and hot lunch offerings. The hours are MON-FRI 7am-6pm and SAT-SUN 8am-4pm.

We (WSDOT) built 20 projects with $800 million not long ago. Wouldn't dedicated tracks be awesome!?! We do have more sidings and more track with concrete ties with clips. The ALT tag provides more context.

Drumroll, please... The first new Amtrak Cascades train is leaving the Siemens manufacturing facility in Sacramento today and heading to Pueblo, CO for testing! Following a year-long testing journey, they’ll arrive home to the PNW in 2026—stay tuned for more photos! #trains #PNW
A newly manufactured Amtrak Cascades locomotive waits to leave the factory in California. The frame around the windshield is gold. The nose is evergreen to represent the PNW trees and most of the locomotive is cream, the white color representing the cream in your coffee. The updated Amtrak Cascades logo is large inside the cream portion. Blue sky and thin white clouds create the backdrop. A new Amtrak Cascades Business Train Car waits to leave the manufacturing facility for testing. Cascade mountains are featured on both ends of the car. BUSINESS is printed on the top middle portion of the evergreen background. The mocha color frames the plentiful windows and there's a stripe of cream color below the windows. The Business Car sports a gold door which matches the mountains in the Amtrak Cascades logo. The door is open and the steps are down, waiting for you to hop onboard! So shiny and new! This is a photo taken from the front corner some new Amtrak Cascades train equipment at the Siemens factory in Sacramento, California, which shows the progress to date. The Evergreen background color has been applied but decals still need to be added to complete the final look.

All train trips resume this weekend - restored in only 11 days! Most trains are already running: 503, 505, 506, 507, 508, 511, 516, 517, 518, & 519. Trains 500, 504, 509, and 502 resume on Saturday & Sunday. Most trains are running with fewer available seats so we recommend you book your tix asap.
