Sometimes you gotta help people out with some repairs. Fog cannon in a local venue, back up and running again. 👌

I regret to inform that I am, in fact, real; and not AI. I'm sorry for being an existing human music maker.
🤣

It's working. (New cooling fan system)

A couple of hours spent modifying this rack pannel for heat distribution for the studio box. The final piece. Temperature control.

Tidied the badboy up. Kinda loving the 90s colours and space-tech look on this thing. Shame it'll be hidden mostly.

Ahoy folks. Today I have made the decision to take down three releases in prep for the new album. There are a few tracks left to complete and master, but I just feel that now is the best time to give a bit of breathing space between the demos and the full release. Thanks.

Feeling like I got nothing done this weekend, but I did completely rebuild my portable studio rig , after adding copper tape to the 8x10 modules. The thing gets REAL warm, so it needed some conduction.

The name's Steve, and I release music under the artist name AmpSmashed. I'll try my hand at pretty much any genre.
Couple Pop-Punk/Metal bands, Electronic Artist, & Live Audio Engineer. I usually have several projects on the burner so I could literally release anything. 👋

35 minutes is a good length for an album, right?
Anyway, here's a sneaky unfinished look at something unreleased. I wrote and did basic arrangement on this at age 17, 21 years ago. This is the year for it.

Okay! I'll do a music thingy.
Here's the current session layout for the album
7/10 in. More guitar and vocals to capture and mix, but getting there. (Yes i've maxed out channels for my sub level)

I've seen a fair bit of this 'High Pass' or 'Use a Shelf' discourse. But it's never really fully explained. But here is a good example.

We can see resonant artefacts below the lowest tone. Be an archaeologist! Excavate those artefacts. if removing them makes no difference to the sound, banish them.

After a couple hours rewiring and rebuilding the mobile recording studio box; we now have 24-track recording & playback, with 16 XLRs out + another 8 if needed 👌
(Also Re-Amp capabilities)

Small numbers compared to others, it seems. But i've only been at this fully for a year with no promotion. I'm more interested in the growth and what's to come.

Green & Purps

Did a little backend work on the site, expanding some code to be able to reuse data. Now you can tap the cover art to open the links page.

The Studio is also in the same mode.

I didn't see many others posting their YTMusic wrap; but I guess here's mine. I didn't bother with Spotify's this year.
Probably a good job I didn't really...

Gear Bros: Check out my studio with all my latest expensive gear and pristinely presented room.

Cathode Sun: Out on streams

Back on platforms 🫡✌️
L2HY is on streams as a 'new release', as now it features the original A Cappella cover demo I did. Raw, no tuning 😬

Sweet Mellow Water is also back tomorrow!

Here's am unedited look at an upcoming track. I really grew up listening to a lot of Classical, as well as 70/80s rock and pop. I find it real hard to not create arrangements for my contemporary tracks. They just convey so much emotion that other instrument groups cannot. (Sound on)
