Think it's become fairly clear at this point that 2025 has become somewhat of an unoffical gap year in my music production.
Between family, personal health, DIY repairs/renovations at home, and work coming to an end in december... releasing music has taken a back seat.

Still stormed in, so later i'll be completing prep on all stems of my first EP for remastering. I've learned so much over the last couple years and getting to grips with plugins, mixing, and ProTools, that I can do so much better. At some point my releases will get a big update.

Hardware support day. Replacing output pannels for the upcoming Ethernet>Input mobile studio conversion.

So far; the best thing about my album taking so long to finish, is that AI and algorythmic music will be abandoned as a field of interest and no longer be a thing by the time of release.

Welp. Cancelled my Spotify sub, and considering moving away from the platform altogether. If subscribers money is being cashed out and invested in AI-powered military attack drones... i'm out.

Do I need more plugins? No, I need more time to use the plugins I already own. Buying more tools to fix a problem you dont have the time to fix, is not a solution.

Lets be honest.
There is no 'one simple trick' to being good or even great at anything. There are pointers. There are 'principles'.
The truth is; it takes time, patience, and A LOT of practice. Talent only goes so far; you have to put the work in, and then you'll see the results. Keep practicing.✌️

A couple of hours spent modifying this rack pannel for heat distribution for the studio box. The final piece. Temperature control.
Tidied the badboy up. Kinda loving the 90s colours and space-tech look on this thing. Shame it'll be hidden mostly.

Ahoy folks. Today I have made the decision to take down three releases in prep for the new album. There are a few tracks left to complete and master, but I just feel that now is the best time to give a bit of breathing space between the demos and the full release. Thanks.

Feeling like I got nothing done this weekend, but I did completely rebuild my portable studio rig , after adding copper tape to the 8x10 modules. The thing gets REAL warm, so it needed some conduction.

My new years ambition is to de-prioritize the green circular streaming platform. I wont be actively pushing my presence on there.
Other platforms may be the future moving forward. The hoarding of wealth is not new, but when the system owners profit more than anyone inside of it, enough is enough.

I've seen a fair bit of this 'High Pass' or 'Use a Shelf' discourse. But it's never really fully explained. But here is a good example.
We can see resonant artefacts below the lowest tone. Be an archaeologist! Excavate those artefacts. if removing them makes no difference to the sound, banish them.
