UK set for highest inflation in G7, OECD says.

Real average wage hardly moved since 2008. Profiteering is the main cause.

Start with controlling price of energy, water, rents. Even better nationalize energy and water, build social housing.
Inflation to surge and growth to drop in fresh economic blow to Reeves
With a difficult Labour conference to come next week followed by the autumn Budget, the OECD’s conclusions have come at a bad time for Rachel Reeves

Water companies sidestep Govt’s bonus ban.

Ministers were repeatedly told that the law was weak but didn't listen.

Law bypassed - water companies hike exec pay, rename bonuses, give execs multiple directorships, shares, perks.

Govt refused to empower customers to vote on exec pay.

Doubling of Southern Water boss pay 'outrageous', says Minister.

Fake rage PR. Govts have done nothing to check rewards for failure.

SW has 119 criminal convictions, dumps sewage, leaks unplugged, customers fleeced, bosses rewarded.

Fake rage is no substitute for action.

Govt keen for people to buy high risk stocks/shares ISA.

But private markets lack transparency. Even seasoned investors struggle.

ISA will let punters dump high risk onto households, who unlike private equity don't hold diversified portfolios.

Take advice. High returns, accompanied by high risks.

DWP is already seeking access to local authority social care databases to identify persons going into hospital/ respite care and adjust benefits accordingly.

The real kicker is not that they want these data, but that they want access across the databases. Total overreach by UK government.

Department for Work and Pensions carrying out “aggressive and rapid” debt collection practices, severe than banks.

DWP doesn't negotiate, deducts overpayments from universal credit.

Govt taking powers to snoop on claimants' bank accounts, remove money.

Banks need to go through court process.

A year ago, Starmer & McSweeney suspended 7 of us for voting to scrap the two-child benefit cap & immediately lift 350,000 kids from poverty.

Now they’re punishing MPs who opposed cuts that would push 800,000 disabled people into poverty.

Insecure men. No vision. No compassion.

It appears to me that the Westminster Gov, when failing to engage with a large number of their electorate who are horrified at the continued killing of the Palestinian people, rush to create ambiguous laws that prevent peaceful protest. This also leads the police into a political minefield.
