The bubble dome looks a bit aged, but the first one is kind of neat, with its almost Oberth-like nacelle vanes. It'd be neat to see that design with the top changed to something shaped more like the top half of your drydock pod, maybe with more of a panoramic window.

Awesome!

Oof, yeah, that makes sense.

Especially if it's angled per the side view.

If it didn't say those spotlight things were terrariums, I'd guess it was for going over the sickbay beds.

Congrats!

I'm looking forward to it! Don't rush it, though - I'll be here.

Oh my god, finally! I've been hoping the Evercade version would become available on PC at some point; it's nice to see something similar (better?)

Glad to help. I'll let you know if I can think of anything else.

I guess good general advice would be to join a subreddit (r/resinprinting or one for your printer model) or discord and peruse for tips etc.

- Dispose of uncured resin in your solvent by blasting it with the UV lamp then straining. Cure all resin before throwing away.
December 12, 2025 at 1:17 PM
- wear gloves, even for the "eco-friendly" resins. They recommend nitrile, but I got away with reusable thick rubber dish gloves.
- water washable does not mean you can put it down the drain! It's just as bad for the environment (and your skin) as any of them.

shake away the worst of the gunk, then repeat in the second one, while also brushing gently with a toothbrush.
- ditto for curing. I used a shiny metal container (e.g. a clean paint can) and a UV flashlight. Just make sure the UV is the right wavelength (405nm IIRC).
December 12, 2025 at 1:17 PM
- I found the "wash & cure" stations seemed like a waste to me unless you're really going to get obsessed. I did just fine with two pickle containers with inner baskets. Put your prints in one with your solvent (isopropyl alcohol or whatever),

My knowledge is dated so I can't say much specifically, but:
- try a few resins, and find community-based settings for each.
- try different support settings; see which ones are easiest to nip off and sand away.

- they often have details that weren't seen (or were cut) from the source.
- particularly older ones sometimes used early screenplay drafts as a source, which makes for interesting alternate takes.

These are both particularly interesting when the author is someone who was involved with the source.

Anyway, I assume it's a one-off, but I thought you might find it interesting at least. Also sorry if I'm splitting this message up weird. Take care!

(or Edward Lasko, the episode's original writer). It sounds vaguely familiar, if the "UFP symbols" refer to founding members' insignia, but I may be thinking of something from those earlier reference books (Worlds of the Federation, etc).
December 8, 2025 at 6:33 PM
These were published after the show aired (although Blish admitted he hadn't seen every episode in one of his forewords), which depicts the UFP flag as a red pennant. I'm curious if this red-green version is ever depicted anywhere, or if it was strictly a fancy of the authours...
December 8, 2025 at 6:33 PM
I just read the Blish/Lawrence novelization of "And the Children Shall Lead", and it refers to a green and red variation of the UFP flag.

"Kirk reverently placed the United Federation of Planets green-and-red flag, with its circle of UFP symbols around a center of stars, upon the grave."

Hi! I'm a long-time enjoyer of your ST deep dives, and came across something I figured you might be able to help with.

I've seen this cover a hundred times and only noticed now it was made to look like a SF magazine cover. I think it's because the image is 3d that I didn't catch on. I almost would have preferred the raw sketch, maybe with some inking.

I look forward to it. The first three were fantastic!
