There's an interesting picturebook originally published in Dutch from the same time as Munsch's called The Princess Who Always Ran Away by Marijke Reesink that also really subverts the trope, though in a different manner.

In picturebooks, it's one of the earliest books that subverts the princess trope, but overall, no. George MacDonald has some interesting early short pieces, such as "The Light Princess" (1864) that start to poke at the princess trope.
