Microsoft broke PlayStation controllers on Win 11 in a recently update. This upset me because Upfall does some fun things with them...

Now, however, I'm happy to say that my usual understated neon has been reinstated in an update!

I've just finished the final example game for the new C++ course I've been working on and... boy it feels really good to get to a stage where I (and hopefully my students) can make something this silly and janky.

So many concepts covered just to make some little critters move about 😆

I spent today fixing bugs, making puzzles, and getting lost in dreamy pads...

But I'll tell you what: I'm really liking the vibes of this new area in CRT7! It's very different to the rest, but I don't think I mind getting lost here 🎵🔊

I did manage to capture the hour changing here, alongside the very Scottish weather display of "yes all three weathers at once" 🤣

Plus most displays will "time out" and revert back to the clock after around 10 seconds.

Apparently I can't leave well enough alone and I've added a rotary encoder to interact with my Thicc Digit Clock.

Switch between current time (with different colours per hour), temperature in °C, cloud cover percentage, humidity, and a working stopwatch you can start/stop by clicking the encoder!

I've got the basics of the solver working for my new puzzle type, but boy this was a deeper rabbit hole than expected! Hashing pentominos paths, lexicographically minimal string rotation, and other fun things 🤯

Still... yay for mostly working test levels 😍

So... I got thinking that maybe I should add some interactivity/options to my Thicc Digit Clock.

Long story short I bought some rotary encoders with clicky buttons and I distracted myself for a little today with more shiny lights 🤣
