That is desperate news, I'm really sorry. Those poor people who have lost their homes, and livelihoods. And yes, something like that can be a devastating blow to a town that is struggling but it can also bring out the very best in people, so hopefully the community will rally.

Grim however to see them still posting on X - but with 12k followers there and only 100-odd here, you can absolutely see why. However there really needs to be a mass exodus from that site sooner rather than later, because audience =/= engagement and doing the right thing is sometimes more important.

Yes. I wasn't opposed to water charges on principle, and am still not, but that is far outweighed by my distrust of any FF or FG government. It's not like we haven't seen several precedents or anything
