It’s extremely silly. Affordable rental units for the most vulnerable are desperately needed. I support that! But many Canadians fall into the “don’t qualify for subsidized housing and struggle to save, let alone enough for a downpayment” category. Wealth inequality will be further entrenched.
The question I answered was about reducing the price of a family's current home, which for most Canadians, is their most valuable asset. The question wasn't "should homes be more affordable?" Of course they should. Vancouver led the country on co-ops, rental-only zoning, social housing, and we launched Canada's first Empty Homes Tax - which created thousands of rental units. We are launching the most ambitious affordable housing plan in generations. I'm focused on what the federal government can and should do to increase the supply and drive down the overall cost of housing. (Q: How do you make "homes more affordable" without reducing the price of family's current home?) Build affordable homes at scale.

When reading the bit on the “pattern for magic” in the excellent post you linked, the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6 came to mind:

God’s will = the nature of the “Unseen”

“On earth as it is in heaven” = declaring “Unseen” truth so it unfolds in the “Seen”, as the world conforms to divine reality

Their messages online are extremely hostile and their workers have all picked one side despite sometimes living in Israel or visiting Israel to relax. I'm not going to speculate on single cases. But you really don't want to constantly piss off one side in a war as an NGO. If they were extremely pro Israel it would be a mistake too. At the end of the day we are still talking about single soldiers deciding if your name and logo should protect you in any single case. You'd want single soldiers to always error towards keeping you safe. What happens if you have 6 Hamas fighters in your car using it for safe transport to a battle? And now you have opposing soldiers seeing this knowing you hate their side. So they figure you are working for Hamas directly. You'd have single soldiers erroring on the side of hitting Hamas even if your trucks are nearby. It's still wrong and should not happen. But it's like the NGOs don't understand common sense. Why are you showing extreme animosity towards a side with guns and rockets? Just putting the lives of your workers in danger. It's totally perplexing and horrid. You better hope both those single American soldiers responsible for the drone strikes have never visited your site or read your propaganda. I would straight up refuse to work for such groups. And I don't t understand why they would ever think their anti-Israel messaging is a smart idea. Tell your workers to not speak up online for one side or the other while they work. I think a lot of people have a totally misguided understanding of Israel like it's an army making no errors as they are Western and modern. They absolutely make errors, daily. You want them to not make errors. That's in your interest. Some of these soldiers don't have much experience either.

I would guess that he probably currently falls into the B1 level of language proficiency.

For context, I studied French for many years in elementary & secondary school, and used to be C1. Now I’m at B2 and would need to really immerse myself in the language to get back to C1.
A1 You've only just begun. Every day is a mix between, "Wow, that's so cool!" to "Um, what?" All while juggling trying to remember everything heading your way. Your brain may hurt a bit after your lessons. But that's okay because you're actually growing new neuropathways that are going to help recall what you've learned. Brains are kinda weird like that. A2 Simple questions and answers are your go-to. You can list things about yourself, your interests, stuff you're familiar with, etc. You can also read basic materials like advertisements, signs, and menus. Ordering food isn't too hard either. But be careful. If the waiter tries to converse with you, you'll be asking them to slow down as you struggle to figure out what was said. B1 You understand the language, but it's mostly the main ideas and very familiar subject areas. Getting around foreign countries is pretty easy for you, and you can navigate small talk. Except, it's not smooth. You struggle at times and may have to backtrack or use your native language when you speak. But hey, you're making progress! B2 You can talk pretty spontaneously, and you have a high degree of fluency. You can have casual conversations and even join a local kickball team (if that's your thing). You can watch TV and movies or read some contemporary literature. As long it's around subjects you're interested in or familiar with, you don't have an issue. C1 You have a handle on the language. You can mingle with coworkers after work for drinks and discuss a range of subjects. You speak like a natural, and you may even notice some mistakes when other people talk. You speak in a way they can understand, and if you get caught up on a word, you can seamlessly find a different way to say it. You get humor and subtext, too. C2 You know everything there is to know about your language. You can speak, argue, and debate easily. And you run meetings at your foreign office without any issue.

I would argue that social media influencers in their 20s also get “over the top, overdone, ridiculous” plastic surgery and injectables - it just looks more “obvious” on these “Mar-a-Lago” women due to the way they dress and do their hair & makeup, as well as the fact that they’re often older
