Yes? Doesn’t everyone have rotten interviews? Oh god. I just assumed everybody has a baker’s dozen of shit interviews?

I played a video game years ago that referred to magic spells that Incorporated wet + cold and called them “misery spells.”

And then there’s all the times I was interviewed by the company founders…once you’ve been interviewed by a founder it makes so much sense why they’re all just slightly insane and/or egomaniacal. Worse when they have financial backing; infinitely worse when they’re self-funded millionaires.

6. Did three rounds of interviews and was told I was a perfect fit; then got a call that said I needed to do “one more screening” which turned out to be an interrogation by the non-profit board member who was incensed they had tried to hire me without their oversight. Ghosted.

5. Asked the interviewer if they liked their job; she said “would I rather be anywhere else? Absolutely. But this is okay - I’m retiring soon,” Did not receive a callback.

4. Brought a sample of a marketing plan to the interview. They said they couldn’t afford me and asked me to “donate” the full marketing plan since I was “passionate about the mission.”

3. Guy who looked at my resume, said “ah…so you played around in college a now you gotta get a real world job, eh?” We both knew it was going nowhere and he sped through the last five questions.

2. Company that “crafted nutraceuticals” — was interviewed by the “CEO” who had a unbandaged boil on his head, told me I would be healthy up until the moment I died of a cardiac event, said I was hired, then his VP called to say I was NOT hired.
