Well, I'm no fan of Mr Walsh and I'm a lifelong Dem but he's basically not wrong. No, he doesn't get to dictate stuff to us, but he's right that Dems *are* out of touch. I mean, we lost. We can care about all those things that he complains about but we don't need to have them be primary planks.

But I’m open to hearing more about why this should not be an issue for the utility.

Is there not a cost to the utility that is incurred when a large customer is basically using the utility primarily for backup? At the very least, if this type of thing happens a lot more, it would make planning much more difficult (and expensive, I assume).

Illinois needs to work on creating a working group to consider the different options for deploying more nuclear here.
