The schism is the same as it's always been: the Birchers vs. the Buckleys (loud dipshit racists vs. polite intellectual racists). The reason they are at a public breaking point is because the latter kept the former placated but out of major positions of power, and they've now lost that control.

That’s the problem, we don’t know their methods. It’s not clear whether they reached out to her or they’re just reviewing the messages from the House. So they leave the impression they rushed this piece possibly without doing some basic due diligence. Bad form, bad example from an influential pub.
