The very talented @spinestoat.bsky.social painted this for my 50th birthday, which was on Wednesday. Isn't it wonderful?

Experimental cooking for Ne'erday breakfast: haggis s'mores, aka s'mairs. Haggis sandwiched between tattie scones and topped with a savoury chocolate sauce. I can't quite remember what gave rise to the idea but it came about just after watching the Doctor Who Christmas special.

Just home from presiding and preaching at midnight mass for the first time ever. (As I did my curacy at a cathedral, I never got the chance to do either during my training.) Happily joining #clergymaltclub with a wee dram of Glen Keith.

The roof of my car this morning. Isn't it bonnie? Jack Frost has been busy in the few places he can get to these days. When I was wee and before we had central heating installed, this was what my bedroom windows would look like in winter. I loved that! I didn't love getting up in the cold, though.

A Beatitude for #transdayofremembrance

This year, we remember 350 #transgender people whom we know have been murdered in the past 12 months. The real figure is likely greater due to underreporting. We also remember those who have died at their own hands, who are no less victims of transphobia.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #6,112,920. Not that I've done that much since I got here, but we'll see how it goes from here on in.

It's publication day for this beastly little volume of poetry from Sidekick Books, which although slim, includes my longest poem yet, in which a band of queer wordsmiths defend Edinburgh from the ravages of a muckle ugsome creature.
