I actually love the last ten seconds for this one. The frenzied cutting between the generic flagwaving and the trophy lift as Cats reaches it's crescendo

I watched this at Christmas and was quite taken aback at how uncharismatic and bland Fashanu was. There's a bit where he tells an incredibly boring anecdote which goes on for ages. I just assumed a former member of the Crazy Gang with "Awooga" as his catchphrase would be a fun guy.

the 'no reveals in the final' rule change ruined it for me. But I feel like the worst people winning only ever happens in the UK series. Other countries series always have at least worthy winners, even if they're not likeable.

Looking on letterboxd, most of my favourites I've seen at the cinema this year are actually listed as 2023, so might be that the best '2024' films will actually come out here in early 2025.
