From May: Saw a fledgling (finch?) hopping about a soccer field. Poor thing was only able to fly about a metre at a time and didn't see any parents around. Hope it was fine! #birds

a ball of fledgling fluff with the beginning of the distinctive barred owl markings. its head and talons are the closest to looking adult. it is lookind down and the beak looks way too big for its tiny body
