I've had solar panels up and running for over a year now and my only regret from the install has been not climbing the trees in the front yard and hacking the tops off because the shadows slay my power generation during the winter...

Currently on my workbench, the inner workings of a statement piece. While my system has always been housed in a black box, I enjoy building visually pleasing machines for people.
It's going through a stress test so we can drop it in knowing it should last, so it's stay on my bench is almost up.

Found some pictures I thought would be fun to share.
The first three are of a PS4 controller that was suffering stick drift; instead of buying a whole replacement, I had my housemate buy replacement joysticks and I performed the swap.
The last one is my PS2 I took apart to replace thermal pads.

For anybody that was curious as to where I have been, I'll be having a friend move in and I've been cleaning up to prepare for that.

My Pokemon Sapphire battery died long ago because the cart went on a ride through the wash and the battery in my emerald cart died fairly recently, so I decided to replace both, except the replacements failed shortly after so I replaced the battery with a holder and it works so that's cool.

I was going to pass on filling this out, but saw Phantasy Star was on it, so I guess I get a 42. Does that mean I pass or fail?
Also, most of the entries in the series I've played on the list are hella old; I've actually played very few new games in recent years...

I took a step I've been wanting to take and removed all the SATA drives from my storage server. As a consequence, I now have a bunch of consumer SSDs without homes.

Somewhat related, I host a community Minecraft server and they keep chewing through the RAM I have allocated for it. I might have to download more RAM for the server if they keep this up.
