Labor costs are central to manufacturing. Not only would it take a while to build local factories and hire local workers, but they would have to be paid local wages.

What would help people understand that the trade deficit is the result of how we all choose to spend our money, and that tariffs would make what we buy more expensive?
Either prices will go up, or we will pay indirectly, like with HomeDepot charging for parking outside their stores -just announced-.

Obviously the real impact of such reduction in research would only be felt over time, both in lack of progress, and in US leadership eroding further. But the 68K jobs lost will have an immediate impact on the researchers, their families and their communities.

I was hoping that by the end of the second month of his reign more people would have awakened to the reality of his policies, but this is definitely moving in the right direction. Let's check again after layoffs begin due to his tariff wars.

13 years ago I thought that Little Marco was a much better alternative than Donald, back in the primaries. He has proven me wrong multiple times since then. President Zelensky was simply defending his reputation and the facts on the ground from two bullies.

How come there isn't a single Democrat with the guts to confront the lies and ineptitude of Donald Trump, like President Zelensky with so much to lose and yet standing up and demanding respect? I hope the European Union steps up to help the poor Ukranians win their underserved war.

I believe this graph to be accurate. If so, it shows that the Trump administration is looking out for "us", as long as we are not talking about common folk but insanely rich people. The rest of us will pay the price.
