For whom is the workplace ruined, Ross? The men who want to put up nudie calendars in the break room, but can't because we refuse to accommodate "masculine vices" (an actual example cited by one of his guests!)??
I wonder how all the women reporters and editors at the Times feel about this headline.

My house is in an historic district in a small town. I had to go before the design review board to replace the treads on my back porch steps...
Breaking News: President Trump is having the White House’s entire East Wing demolished to make way for his $200 million ballroom. The project is far more extensive than he initially let on.

Update. Harvard finds resolve.

Excellent explainer from The Crimson: www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

Searching for the "resolve" in this message from Harvard's president. They're picking off universities one by one. Put up some roadblocks for cripes sake, don't clear the path to the rest of us.

This is how you do it. Call out discriminatory policies. Say we’re having none of it.

Good morning from our corner of Vermont. Old timers talking about a”real winter” up here. Started snowing on Thanksgiving and no sign of letting up soon. #vtwx

Kids have the most pure sense of justice. We all need to channel our righteous HS selves now.
I had my HS juniors list methods of resistance and had them think about when they don't want to, say, do the dishes.

They came up with plenty of methods, with the first three being: Refuse. Delay. Ignore. Organize a protest.***

Wish we weren't reliant on and beholden to billionaires to pay our UN dues. Where else will we need billionaire $? Basic research, infrastructure? That's what government is for.

We bought the first Honda Prologue in Vermont, way back in May. Choice was based on brand loyalty (and Apple CarPlay, tbh). Our CRV hybrid lease was ending and we wanted an EV. Seeing more and more Prologues on the road in Vermont!

This! I wrote the climate action plan for my grocery co-op and I'm constantly debunking the "more local food will reduce our carbon emissions" misconception among our members. Many important co-benefits, but not a climate win.
Local food isn't better for the climate.

Lots of other good things! Local economies, community touchstones, place to connect with people who grow food

But not a climate win.
What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

Food systems are the #2 contributor to climate change, the #1 driver of deforestation, the #1 driver of biodiversity loss on land, and the #1 user of freshwater.

(It follows that food systems contain many solutions to these problems.)
