Took this before I left the press box after my eighth (!) season covering Pitt football. It was an interesting and fun season and I appreciate all of you who follow me!

"And as I sat there watching Cal lead SMU by ten in the second quarter, leaving the door open for Duke to make the ACC Championship Game due to tiebreakers, I couldn't help but wonder: in a country so divided, are divisions sometimes good?"

Pitt will again have to hit the portal hard for O-line and D-line help. I think both units were better this year than last, but they still need to make a bigger impact than they did in 2025.

Last offseason, Pitt hit the portal hard for O-line and D-end help.

They got:
Jeff Persi, Kendall Stanley, and Keith Gouveia on the O-line
Jaeden Moore, Joey Zelinsky, and Blaine Spires at D-end.

With the exception of Stanley, all off those guys missed at least one full game

All--

No, I will not ask Pat Narduzzi or Mike Tomlin whatever questions you think I should ask. They aren't clever. They are bad, dumb questions that are unlikely to yield good answers.

I know how to do my job & I'm not going to ask terrible questions to appease folks online.

And, as I think we’ve seen in two of the last three weeks, for Pitt to become a great team, the Panthers simply have to be better in the trenches. They will never be able to match up with teams like Notre Dame and Miami if they can’t play better up front on both sides.
November 29, 2025 at 10:26 PM
All things considered, Pitt going 8-4 isn’t a bad season. They probably should have been 10-2 but the QB change was made swiftly compared to past years (ahem, 2023). They’re a good team but not a great team.

Narduzzi on Malachi Toney: "I saw everything I expected, one of the most dynamic players in college football...For him to throw a fade, he's throwing the ball well. He's a special player. He's hard to stop. We shoulda, coulda done a better job of stopping him."

McIntyre said the defense needed to do a better job adjusting to the refs and the type of game they were calling today. Says DB coach Archie Collins always emphasizes adjusting to the refs.

Mason Heintschel says Pitt has things to clean up and it starts with him. Says they shot themselves in the foot a lot with penalties.
November 29, 2025 at 8:59 PM
Narduzzi says Desmond Reid wasn't feeling well, but they had wanted to get him in the game since he's a Miami native but Reid wasn't good enough to go.
November 29, 2025 at 8:56 PM
Narduzzi says Mason Heintschel is "fine" but tweaked something before halftime. Said he wasn't limited in the second half despite the tape on his ankles.
November 29, 2025 at 8:55 PM

November 29, 2025 at 8:53 PM

November 29, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Narduzzi says he talked to his players about the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Says he told them not to get baited into it and "they got baited into it."

November 29, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Pat Narduzzi says "obviously not the outcome we wanted."

Says Pitt was outplayed at the line of scrimmage.
