I countered with some facts, which were basically ignored. Not because she disagrees but because she’s not engaging with this issue. 8/

I don’t know what I expected. Maybe she’d be argumentative or open to onboarding new information.

She’s not posting on the socials. She doesn’t talk politics with family or friends. In that way, she’s not spreading misinformation. But she’s definitely taking it in. 4/

I think she represents a lot of people we don’t see online, so I want to share about it. 3/

Context: She is single-issue conservative (anti-abortion) but not politically active. She is mid-60s and lives in central MN. She is not [purposefully] bigoted, but she’s been influenced by right-wing celebrities and ideologies. 2/

ICE is scattershot in small towns across the state (and country).

With very little media coverage, in towns and counties with a LOT of MAGA / Trump supporters.

Part of that terror is seeing what’s happening elsewhere, of course.

Part of the terror is lack of information. The unknown.

Are they going to show up with a large force? Trickle in? Big raids? Quiet neighborhoods?
