This is not policing.

This is state repression, in support of a genocidal rogue apartheid state.

Starmer's regime brings shame on the UK, they have to go.

Welfare bill climbdown will have ‘a cost’ at budget, says UK minister.

Another tactic for driving down people's aspirations.

UK can bail out banks, subsidise corporations, fund wars but somehow thecan't tackle poverty.

Last yr HMRC didn't collect £46.8bn of taxes; over £500bn since 2020.

Getting really sick of MPs and journalists trotting out the line about people with "serious lifelong conditions" no longer being reassessed. Have these people read the severe conditions criteria? Hardly anyone will qualify. You pretty much need to be quadriplegic.

PM asked at #pmqs if he realises this has eroded trust; gives snippy response.

Meanwhile

As he heads home, Boxall is “drained” and “resentful” of the months of stress he and other disabled and sick people have faced. “As a community, we’ve been put through a mental and physical wringer,” he says.
“It’ll take days bedbound to recover, but if we don’t fight our own corner, who will?”

How dare anyone say we should 'absolutely' second guess medical specialists who have treated me for years? The woman in the floral dress has never seen a PIp application form. It is incredibly difficult to receive. And it's not 40k a year! She needs to inform herself.

An excellent summary of why the 4-point criteria suggestion was so pernicious.
NEW FROM ME -

Britain is abandoning international medical consensus on disability.

Every other developed nation recognizes cumulative impairment as genuine severity.

We're about to become an anomaly—and the logic of 4+ suggests it was deliberate.

Thank you @chrismcdonaldmp.bsky.social for saying so clearly that people's lives are just as valuable whether they are in work or not. The value-loaded rhetoric around this bill has directly attacked that principle, causing significant distress. Dignity, unconditional support & trust. Thank you.

Two-thirds of the UK think the PIP and UC cuts are cruel.

Every MP should take note. Labour MPs like mine (@alistrathern.bsky.social) should consider whether they can afford to turn two-thirds of their constituents off voting for them again.

A former minister told the BBC it is easy to ‘game’ the PIP form based on knowing what to fill in

This is untrue.

PIP forms are not only notoriously difficult to fill in but require huge swaths of evidence - and even then many people don’t get what they are due until tribunal.

Labour have decided to put 800,000 disabled kids at risk.

They receive DLA instead of adult PIP. But Labour's guarantee to protect PIP recipients only protects people on PIP now.

So when the kids have to migrate to PIP, they'll face the new much harsher assessment regime.

Many will lose out.

"If it is legal to arm a state that's in the process of committing the world-historic evil we're witnessing in Gaza then plainly the law needs to change."

And just because it's legal, it doesn't mean we have to do it. It's lawful, not compulsory.
Groups like @caatuk.bsky.social have long argued that UK arms controls are inadequate. Grim as this verdict is, it's also a vindication of that view

And they are doing it to 'save' the welfare system so it can be there in future for those who 'really need it'.

Why don't they see they are gaslighting current claimants about the level of our needs?
