I like this post because it is a reminder that everything that is working for someone else may not work for you. It is not because that is something wrong with you, it's because all our bodies are different. Different things works for different people. @beh353 #beh353
The trolls love to say "Don't listen to her about nutrition - you might end up looking like her." But I'm not telling you to eat like me (that would be silly; you're not me & I don't know enough about you)

But as instructional as I get is to say -- be wary of instructional one size fits all advice.

Throughout this semester, I’ve learned how strongly nutrition affects overall health and recovery. As a future health professional, I plan to use this knowledge by helping people understand how their daily food choices impact how they feel. @beh353 #beh353

There’s so much content out there, and it isn’t always evidence-based. That’s why I chose to share this post about Thanksgiving turkey myths. Its breaks down common myths with clear, easy-to-understand facts from a registered dietitian instead of just a random person posting. @beh353 #beh353

The food I am most looking forward to eating on Thanksgiving is stuffing and mash potatoes. I eat mash potatoes sometimes but eating it during Thanksgiving is different. I don't have any secret recipes because we go to my mom's friends house! I hope everyone has an good Thanksgiving! @beh353 #beh353

I love this reminder. Especially with the semester ending and finals coming up, it’s so important to pause and check in with ourselves. Progress really is about awareness, not perfection. @beh353 #beh353
November’s a good time to check in with yourself. Progress isn’t about doing everything right—it’s about noticing what helps you feel your best and doing more of that. #RealWorldNutrition

As a future healthcare professional, I totally agree! The simple swaps and plate ideas make healthy eating approachable and realistic, exactly the kind of guidance I’d want to share with families. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
As a future healthcare professional working with kids, I’d share this AAP HealthyChildren article on healthy food choices for kids. It’s evidence-based and written by pediatricians, parent-friendly, and gives practical swaps and plate ideas families can actually use. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

That’s such an important reminder! I agree, food isn’t just fuel, it’s emotional and cultural too. Building a healthy relationship with food means appreciating it for nourishment and enjoyment without guilt. @beh353 #beh353
“food is just fuel” is a popular saying in the fitness world. and sure, food can be fuel, but it can also be so much more.

food can be a way to connect with other people, cultures, and our memories.

you don’t have to moralize foods or punish yourself for enjoying them.

I agree! I feel like when people want to loose weight, they go on a strict diet and try to cut out all sweets or processed food. I feel like it is okay to have snack or sweet treat once in a while. #beh353 @beh353
Exactly! Using what I've learned in class this week, ultra-processed foods shouldn't be shamed, just limited. Tom's weight loss using Chick-fil-A reminds me of this post because although he had his default salad, he allowed himself to snack occasionally without ruining his pattern. #beh353 @beh353
There’s no need to shame yourself for enjoying chips or soda. “Junk food” is a loaded term. Try thinking of it as a sometimes food. Health is about patterns, not all-or-nothing. One snack doesn’t undo your well-being. #RealWorldNutrition

Tom Carroll’s story really opened my eyes. Losing weight isn’t just about eating less, it’s about changing your habits and environment. Cutting out ultra processed foods and focusing on real change over quick fixes is something I’ll remember when working with clients. @beh353 #beh353

I love sandwiches and I think they have a good balance between carb, proteins, and veggies. I feel like I also stick to same old sandwiches or I just throw what I have in the fridge together. This post can help me build more healthy and balance sandwiches. @beh353 #beh353

That’s a really good point! Obesity affects so many aspects of health like mental health. As future healthcare workers, being aware of how widespread it is can help us focus on prevention, patient education, and promoting healthier lifestyles in our communities. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
A fact I learned was that more than 1/3 of adults in the US are obese. As a future healthcare worker, this is important because obesity has lasting impacts on people's health, regardless of the field of medicine. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

A fact I learned from the James Cardon video is that one factor that contributes to weight gain or live unhealthy lives is poverty. I will incorporate this personally by trying to be more mindful because I never really took this into account. @beh353 #beh353

Talking about time management and having a tight schedule, it is easy to forget to take care of yourself. This post is a reminder how important sleep is. I do not know the last time I went to sleep before 10pm. @beh353 #beh353

I also chose to write about "lack of time to plan, shop, prepare, and cook healthy foods". I am glad I am not the only one who struggles with this. I think it is hard to cook while being in college. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
I chose the "lack of time to plan, shop, prepare, and cook healthy foods". I face this problem in college, where I'm either too lazy or too tired to shop for groceries and prepare and cook food, especially when I need to do it in the morning. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I chose "Lack of time to plan, shop, prepare and
cook healthy foods" because I struggle with time. With school, work and everything, I end up having a busy schedule, so I lack time for things like cooking or grocery shopping. This leads to me having to order out which isn't healthy. @beh353 #beh353

Wow! I didn’t realize how important vitamin D is for helping the body absorb calcium until recently. It’s good that the National Osteoporosis Foundation emphasizes overall habits like exercise and a balanced diet too, not just supplements, for maintaining bone health. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I saw the Olly Women’s Multivitamin Gummies at Target and looked into them. They include many vitamins and several B vitamins for energy and skin health. What surprised me was that even though they’re marketed as healthy, each serving still has about 2 grams of sugar. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I agree, health is really about balance, not just exercise or diet. Managing stress, getting enough sleep, and maintaining good daily habits make a huge difference in energy and focus. I picked this quote to repost because it relates to my recent repost. @beh353 #beh353

1 high quality resource that I would share with a patient would be Harvard Health Publishing. It provides trustworthy, accessible, and actionable health information to help people live healthier lives. I think it is high quality because the articles are reviewed by physicians. @beh353 #beh353

I picked this quote to repost because I totally agree. Sometimes when I am really stressed out, all I need is a sweet treat. I want to be able to drink my apple juice or eat my donut without having a wave of guilt after. One small pass is okay but consuming it everyday isn't good. @beh353 #beh353

Intermittent fasting is instead of centering on how much you eat, it focuses on when you eats. One question I had is could eating earlier vs. later impact metabolism and health regardless of calories? @beh353 #beh353

I love noodles, especially pasta. Instead of regular pasta with cream sauce, I use whole grain pasta with grilled chicken, spinach, and roasted veggies. This adds more fiber, protein, and vitamins without losing any flavor. @beh353 #beh353
