KLM (Spain) continues the series of planet-killing advertisement sending me a 'Halloween'-themed email about discovering castles all over the world. Recommendations include South Africa, Romania and Japan.

We need air transport degrowth or we will end up in a really scary world.

AirFrance (Germany) is offering me a 90€ code for my next booking to celebrate their 90th anniversary. It is valid for selected long-haul flights. This is exactly what is wrong with air transport. Creating fake demand when you don’t need to fly and for the most polluting routes.

Mass protests reported in Panama against the national government’s complicity with Canadian mining interests. Empowered citizens are forcing the government to reconsider any future mining projects.

Last generation Austria, sibling to @letztegeneration.bsky.social in Germany, continues its activity at Uni Graz. Banner says: Knowledge is responsibility. And they are right. Listen.

If we do not act, there will be no science in the near future, and all our teaching efforts are for nought.

Jogged 10 km today, had to force myself to focus on the music, cause I felt two incipient anxiety attacks triggered by the fact that it is 23°C in Berlin in freaking mid-October, and everyone is enjoying themselves instead of facing this with absolute terror…

No idea how to start finding my contacts from the other social network here. Tried a couple of tools and found only like one person. Considering to do it manually but it will take ages…

There is a flight from Bristol to Berlin that has a layover in Dublin… This is insanity! 🤯

It comes with a 15h+ layover, which is more than enough time to take the train from Bristol to Berlin… 🚂

Airlines (and airports by default) have been complicit in the transport of animals for vivisection. Here is a new petition by PETA, demanding Scandinavian Airlines to stop transporting dogs 🐶 to their torture and death.

Reading a bit for my research: It seems the whole enterprise of designing The Concorde costed the public an obscene amount of money, even when authorities knew airlines were not interested in the supersonic plane. The real numbers were hidden from the taxpayers (both in France and U.K.)

Lots of reports of flash flooding and horrible images of people trapped in Başakşehir, Istanbul tonight. This climate crisis is only going to get worse. We need to force governments to take the situation seriously and act NOW!

I went from being relatively ignored in Twitter to being significantly ignored in all the new post-Twitter alternatives… Luckily, I excel at talking to myself…

What is your definition of “harm”? Can someone be harmed by their death?

Reading about the history of airports in Paris: No surprises that after selling Charles de Gaulle airport as a must because of forecasted air traffic, Paris ended up with three underutilized airports (Orly, C. de Gaulle and Le Bourget). How many new airport projects are based on "inaccurate" data?
