How can anyone with a shred of integrity or self-respect actually say those words — that standing up to an authoritarian goon “ didn’t work”?
I mean, unless you’re just an abject coward, what other choice is there?

My grandmother’s depression-era cooking (and other sensibilities) was enough to convince me at an early age that even though we were poor, we still had it better than my parents did when they grew up.

I noticed with our kids they didn’t want to have a baby only starter apartment/home like we did.
I’m seeing that a lot: kids expecting in their 20s what their parents had in their 40s.

A populist who lived off of daddy’s money became President, so I’m not sure what their complaint is.

I am appreciating the skepticism of immunity for contractors. Given this administration’s preference for contractors, it may make seeking future justice easier.
Would apply too to any bounty hunters or anyone else engaged on ICE’s behalf, including detainment facilities. (Alligator Alcatraz?)

In several states, the list of who goes to the primary ballot is decided long before, by the caucus system.
If you’re in one of those states, change your registration to a party and go to your neighborhood caucus.

State prisons and federal prisons are very different in terms of what is allowed.
Even though letters, books, and other mail are should to improve rehabilitation, they’re often blocked because prison officials are assholes (and, purportedly, drug smuggling).
Some good 1A case law exists here.

She’s nearly 60. (Her mom is 84.) If she’d been groomed for the position, it should have been handed off years ago.
It’s okay to skip a generation here. We need more millennials in the House anyway.
(Also: dynasties are 🤮)

I spent my Saturday teaching 13-year-olds about finance, debt, and yes, risk pooling.

Perhaps reconsider the causal sexism of describing someone that way.
