The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

Your schtick is wearing thin, John. Let’s work together to give Americans what they deserve - a functioning democracy. Shut downs suck - but this corrupt, un-constitutional power grab is even worse. Without oversight and power of the purse, your vote for a CR is a vote in favor of a monarchy.
