My wife insists I make sure to point out that I have no *official* affiliation with HUD. I’m just one concerned employee speaking out on behalf of myself and my HUD brothers and sisters. In solidarity.

Buddy, a ‘Yes’ vote is, in the most literal sense, an endorsement. Backing this CR allows Trump to continue terrorizing working families and plunge the entire country into chaos; your failure to act is a tacit approval of that strategy, despite your mealy mouthed messaging.
My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR.

My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down.

I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.

“We can’t shut down the government to stop Trump from firing everyone because if we did then Trump would fire everyone” was exactly the message of hope I was looking for from Democratic leadership.

As a Senator, I serve a cause higher than what my constituents might "want," or the interests of the labor unions that support my party, or even the continued function of the republic itself. And that cause is uh... hmm this is embarrassing. Wow. I definitely had it written down. On a post-it. Haha.

Don’t worry, Schumer is playing the long game. Like Machiavelli taught us in ‘The Prince’ the most prudent way to win power is to capitulate any time there’s an opportunity to use leverage to advance your interest.
Chuck out here thinking that democracy and rule of law are just bougie excesses, like avocado toast.
