We live in capitalism, its power seems inescapable--but then, so did the divine right of kings. Ursula K. Le Guin
This is a helpful explainer as I assumed he was referring to a certain expert in bankrupting casinos.

In a paper bag in a three-level hanging basket that has onions, garlic and squashes in the other baskets. They are still sometimes unnoticed/forgotten in their opaque bag, but at least they dry out rather than rot.

Fares
• *are* significant expense for the most disadvantaged
• are inefficient - collection & enforcement cost time & money

Starting from the blossom end so you're biting across the membranes that surround the seeds rather than coming in from the side of the apple makes a big difference in the mouth feel as you're chewing them up, making them almost unnoticeable. That said, a few varieties have much stiffer membranes.

I just discovered eating the whole apple, starting from the blossom end, a few weeks ago!
I used to carefully nibble every bit of flesh off the core (time consuming and messy), but now I pop out the blossom remnants with a fingernail, then eat until there's just a stem left. So tidy!
