I can both read and write.
Librarian, professor, baker, educator. And candlestick maker, thanks to Girl Scouts and Frontier Town at Cedar Point.
Small town Ohio, start of Appalachia, very red. #NoKings had about 200, I think. In June only had about 100. Only two countering people who left after walking through twice, mumbling we’re ill-informed. Loads of honking from all kinds of people.

@morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social stop talking over Eddie Glaude and dismissing his experience as a Black man. And stop mocking him. They do this every few months. It’s a wonder he comes back.

My 7x great uncle signed the Declaration of Independence. I can only imagine how appalled he’d be today.

@arimelber.bsky.social Achebe got “things fall apart” from Yeats’s poem “The Second Coming.” No disrespect to Achebe, who is fantastic.

About 90 people turned out in my small, SE Ohio, red town today. Lots of positive honking. One dude in a jeep with a trump flag kept circling us. #handsoff #outnumbered

Liberation? Sure, if you mean my retirement account being liberated of a bunch of money.

I swear, if the finale of Severance includes the word “purgatory,” I’m going to hunt down Ben Stiller and give him a stern talking to. Loudly. With hand gestures.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is part of the group threatening Costco because they have DEI initiatives. When you fill out a form on his website, there's a request for demographic info. Someone want to tell him that DEI supports these people?

Dear Ministers in America,

Bishop Budde did something awe-inspiring, something sadly rare, and something you are also capable of doing.

Sunday is here.

May you greet it with courage.

Working from home today--too cold for students to be walking about. I really like working from home. I get an energy from being around students, but I get much more done at home. And my dog is at home.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social Your earlier coverage is being re-run. It’s making you and MSNBC look foolish and sloppy, since the death toll has been updated, yet they’re airing you saying ten and the scroll saying ten. Be better, MSNBC.

MSNBC is re-airing the Chris Hayes coverage from the 5pm hour. Since then, the death toll in NOLA has gone up (the scroll has not been updated to reflect the 15 deaths), there’s been an update in LV, and the President has addressed the nation. Why are they rerunning “breaking news” coverage?

Had a total of four foot surgeries this year. Today was my first day back on the treadmill. Felt weird, but good.

If you have bunions, look into lapiplasty surgery.

Finally finished an embroidery project for a friend’s Christmas gift. In the meantime, she won a blue ribbon for her embroidery at her state fair. Like writing a poem as a gift for Yeats.

Was hoping to get a bunch of pre-cleaning (putting away of stuff that accumulates) done this weekend so next weekend I just clean in anticipation of hosting Thanksgiving for my family. And now I’m sick. Sigh.
