“Oh?” Given how intensely Sigma was trying not to look down, they had a front row seat to Nikolai’s apparent surprise. “Did you become afraid of heights, Siggy?” “No!” He replied, a tad bit more quicker than intended. “Put me back somewhere as high as the casino was, and still no problem.” Funnily enough, the possibility of not explaining all of that to him didn’t cross their mind. Even if what he was going to say may or may not end up turning into teasing material. “But here, where this bridge feels so-- unsafe… I’m freaking out a bit, yeah. Happy?” “You think seeing you in distress brings me joy?” Nikolai gasped, lifting a hand to his chest. “You wound me, Sig. Though, I must admit your reactions are delightful! That for sure.” Sigma let out a deep sigh. Of course he would say something like that. What surprised them, even when it shouldn’t, was what came next. “Y’know, we can always hold hands if that makes you feel more at ease…” Was said with a sing-song tone that made him scoff, and yet… Sigma lost no time after, holding onto Nikolai’s hand like they were going to fall otherwise. Even when there was no way yet. It felt nice, by the way. Despite him still wearing his usual red gloves, Sigma could still notice the warmth coming from Nikolai, and he guided them all the way with more gentleness than it might have been expected (at least from Sigma’s perspective, if nothing else). It felt so nice that, despite having to walk through there, the experience seemed almost enjoyable. At least until they get to the other side and none of them made the slightest move to separate, when the ‘almost’ left the equation.
